The Brick We Carry

By Germar Reed

The brick we carry is not an object—
It is us, in form and weight.
At first, it feels a burden,
A challenge, a test we must face.
But we are the brick,
We are the ones who bear its weight.

We stand together, shoulder to shoulder,
Each of us a brick, standing in line,
Building something greater than ourselves—
The Eta Psi chapter, strong and divine.
Our struggle is shared,
Our strength, our pride, our purpose, collective.

Each Brother holds his weight,
For a weak brick weakens the wall.
A crack in the structure, a flaw in the foundation,
Can bring down the strength of us all.
But we are not weak,
We are the builders—our legacy is unshaken.
The house we build,
The Brotherhood we forge,
Is the heart of Eta Psi, unbreakable, eternal.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishment the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

We are the brick,
And the mortar is Brotherhood.
We are bound together by a bond
That time cannot sever.
The weight we bear,
The walls we build,
Will stand beyond the trials we face,
And those who come after us
Will stand upon our strength,
Upon the house of Eta Psi,
Built with honor, built to last.

We are the brick.
We are the wall.
We are the house.
And together, we endure as Eta Psi.
